Workplace Training Course
What is it?
We can provide an Auslan course that is tailored specifically to your workplace. The course can include:
- Signs specific to your needs
- General Deaf awareness
- Communication strategies & tips
- Interpreting information
All staff members will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the completion of the course
What signs would we learn?
In a 6-12 hour course, a range of signs will be taught. These include (but are not limited to):
- Alphabet and numbers
- Greetings and pleasantries
- Getting and giving information
- Instructions and directions
- Questions and pronouns
- Community and workplace signs
- Social activities
- Signs related to the workplace
- Signs requested by staff members prior to the course
Will you travel to us? How long is the course?
We will travel to your workplace. Courses can range from 2hrs through to 12hrs.
We believe it is important to adapt our course to suit the needs of each organisation so will vary the course content based on your timeframe and requirements.
Who teaches the course?
One of our highly enthusiastic and qualified teachers from across Victoria will teach the course.
ALL of our teachers are Deaf and provide personal insights and experiences of Deaf culture and in accessing services.
Where required an interpreter will also be booked for 2 hours to assist with initial communication.
